The phone books list mainly the 0800 numbers for WINZ which are actually of not much use for anyone (works similar like "Press 1", then "Press 2" etc. - you know the usual call centre rubbish from many other companies or public service offices when you want to talk to someone).

Recommendation - esp. if you are a WINZ "customer" :  Ask your customer service officer for his / her phone and fax number to get through to him directly - also the e-mail address. The WINZ e-mail addresses work usually like :  firstname.lastname@winz.govt.nz  -  example only: sue.smiley@winz.govt.nz.
